Scott lodges formal complaint to Council - Archers Wood
Almost one year ago, Greystones Councillor Cllr Lourda Scott successfully lodged an appeal with An Bord Pleanala following the decision by Wicklow County Council to remove a planning condition for a community building in Archer’s Wood, Delgany. This means that Cairn Homes are now obliged to build the two story amenity building that was part of the original planning approval. To date there has been no action on getting this done
Speaking today Scott said: “I have fought to keep this space for the community and am very disappointed that there has been no movement on delivering this building. I sent in queries to the Council to be simply been told that there is no update. This is unacceptable and I have had no choice but to send in a formal planning enforcement complaint to try and progress this.”
Cllr Scott has previously raised community concerns over shortfalls in infrastructure and community facilities and in 2021 had instructed the Council to commission an audit to highlight deficiencies in this area.
“I have been canvassing since last July and have spoken to a lot of people during this time. The need for better infrastructure is constantly being raised. Especially the need for community spaces that can be used for everyone from active retirement groups to youth clubs for teenagers. I have promised to keep this as a key priority of mine if re-elected to the Council. To this end, I am happy to support my constituents by bringing this enforcement complaint and pushing the Council to take the next step which has been mandated by An Bord Pleanala. I will continue to keep this on the agenda if re elected. ”
